Rights and Respecting Team

Matilda and Finn are our new Rights and Respecting team. They attend meetings every Thursday and then report back to the class. They are thoroughly enjoying their new role and are doing a brilliant job!

School Council

Olivia and Freddie are our new School Council Team for Year 2.
  

Weekly Reminders

PE Kits required from Monday to Friday as PE happens at various times in the week.

Reading – Read your reading books and parents please complete the reading record.

Spellings – Practise these throughout the week. New spellings are given on a Friday and will also be tested on a Friday.

K.I.R.F.S – (Key Instant Recall Facts) Practise these regularly as they will be tested weekly.

Learning in Year 2

Our Topic this half term is ‘Journeys’ and ‘Our wonderful World’.

English – We have been exploring Chris Judge’s book ‘The Lonely Beast’. The children have written diary entries, news paper reports and character descriptions.

Maths – We have been learning about place value, addition and subtraction and length.

P.E – This half term we have worked with Mr Ralph Windwood to learn new skills within invasion games.

DT – The children made fantastic clay beast models by using tools and techniques to shape their creation.
