School Governors

Happiness Through Learning

Joanne Pulman

Clerk to the Governing Body

I am a Clerk to the Governors for North Yorkshire County Council, I also work in Health and Adult Services within NYCC.

I am enjoying my role as a Clerk and working with various schools across the County.

I have lived in Northallerton for many years and feel very lucky to live in such a lovely part of the country. I am married and have three children (although one has now flown the nest) and a house full of pets!!

In my spare time I like to bake and read.

Nigel Hebron

Chair of Governors

Having been very lucky to have had an excellent start in life through a very good state education and having gone on to have a good career in Accountancy, I wanted to give everything I could to help and assist other young children get the best educational start they could in order to maximise their potential.  Having had numerous finance director roles in blue chip organisations I have found my passion is working in food companies and I currently operate as the Finance Director of a snack food company in Leeds.

Outside of work I have two children that keep me busy along with supporting Middlesbrough Football Club and trying to keep a little fit by running

Joolz Form

Co-opted Member of the Governing Body

Date of Appointment 23rd March 2017

I have been a Governor at Brompton for seven years since my children moved on from the school in 2010 and am now a Co-opted Governor. I believe 100% in a good start in life and I have been lucky enough through my career as a music teacher to have had a positive influence on many students. Children spend a long time in school and I want to be part of a school who sees the whole pupil not just results. Every child has something to offer, every child is different and I want to help the school celebrate every pupil who comes through the school gates.

I have been a music teacher since 2003 and worked in North Yorkshire for 9 years since moving here in 2009. I am an artist and sculptor and have run my own business for 16 years – so whilst being creative, I am also practical and understand the need for financial scrutiny and in getting value for money.

I work alongside staff in the school and their welfare and progression is one of the areas upon which I would like to focus in the coming year.

Mrs L Hazelwood

Parent Governor

Date of Appointment: October 2017
I’m a busy mum of 3 children: Stanley, Nelly and Olive. I’m married to Jason and we’ve lived in Brompton since 2002. I work part time teaching in a primary school in Ripon.

Stanley and Nelly both attend Brompton Community Primary School and are very proud of their school. I want to help our village school be as good as it can possibly be for all our children and am passionate about inspiring youngsters to have a love of learning.

As a family we love being outdoors; walking, biking and exploring the countryside. My other great passion in life is Art. Drawing, painting and all things crafty make me very happy.

Mrs E Price

Co-opted Member of the Governing Body

I am a busy working mum of twin daughters who attend Brompton Community Primary school. As a busy mum I often felt a little disconnected from school life and being a school governor has allowed me an insight into the way school runs.

In my working life, I am a senior nurse within palliative and end of life care and have extensive experience of public sector inspection procedures and governance arrangements, as well as leadership and management experience.
I have a special interest in student welfare and very much believe in a rounded education for all pupils regardless of educational ability. I have responsibility as governor representative for children with special educational needs.
