Year 1 have settled in well to their new classroom.
We have focused on getting to know each other and become familiar with our classroom.
In Science, we are focusing on the seasons. We enjoyed our first trip around Brompton looking for the changes in the trees and how the leaves are changing. The children used their prior knowledge from outdoor learning to identify the trees.
We had great fun picking some conkers and leaves for our display in the classroom.
In English, we have started reading our Power of Reading text ‘In our Hands’. The children have been looking closely at the illustrations to make inferences.
Our ELS phonics scheme has begun with a phase 3 recap. We will soon be moving onto phase 5 sounds. The children have done fantastic with their sentences so far and we are trying hard to use our capital letters and full stops.
