Welcome to the Foundation Stage
Happiness Through Learning
Hello from Mrs MacQuarrie, Miss Tym all the children in the Foundation Stage!
A huge, warm welcome to our class page!
Thank you for taking the time to look at our work and read all about our learning.
For the summer term our topic is ‘Growing and Changes’. We have lots of exciting activities planned! Take a look at our newsletter for more information.
Baking is every Friday – please remember baking boxes and contribution.
F2s P.E. kits are required Monday – Friday as P.E. happens at various times throughout the week.
Reading – F2 children need to have their reading book in school at all times. F1 children change their book everyday.
F1 story sacks and packs are to be returned every Monday.
Please remember to return Brompton Bears on Mondays.
Please remember to apply sun cream before school and make sure children bring a sun hat.
Trip to Saltholme – Friday 15th June
As part of our ‘Mini-beast’ topic, the Foundation Stage went on a trip to Saltholme. We had so much fun! We went mini-beast hunting and pond dipping and we played games in-between. We used ‘tickle sticks’ to catch the bugs and we even found a newt! The pond dipping was brilliant – and we all managed to stay out of the pond! The weather stayed dry and we had a great day. Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the trip and the adults that came to help us on the day. As always, the highlights of the day were the packed lunches and the visit to the play park!
Meet our new friends!
In keeping with our topic, we have gained some tadpoles in the Foundation Unit. The children are really enjoying observing them and watching them change.
Easter Bonnets and Egg Hunts
The children had a lot of fun making, wearing and posing in their Easter bonnets before sharing them with the school in our Easter Assembly.
The Foundation Stage Staff then had a fantastic time on their Easter egg hunt. Rumour has it that there may even be a few eggs left over – better find them before they melt!
