Foundation Stage Spring Term Newsletter 2018

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Christmas break. And a lovely, warm welcome to all of the new starters and their families!

• Please ensure all clothing is clearly named.
• Your child needs to bring a coat each day.
• Please ensure your child wears appropriate shoes which are suitable for outdoor play – we go outside come rain or shine!

F2 phonics books

Phonics books will be sent home every week. Please support your child at home by learning the new sounds or action words.

Please return phonics books to school every Monday.

Friday is baking day. Please remember to bring a labelled box. We value your £1 contribution. Thank you.

Wow moments!

Thank you for the Wow moments – please keep them coming! Come in and look at our Wow board. Extra sheets are available!
We like to share Wow moments too. If your child has come home with a Wow moment, please make a comment and return to school (we will send a copy home for you to keep).

F2 P.E. kit

Please ensure your child has a white T shirt, a pair of dark shorts and P.E. shoes at school for our P.E. sessions.
F2 P.E. lessons are now on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Author of the month

In February we will be focusing on Roger Hargreaves who wrote the Mr. Men books. If your child has a book by Roger Hargreaves that they would like to share, please bring it to school with their name in it.

You should have received an email with your child’s Autumn observations. We hope you have enjoyed looking through them! Please send us a reply to let us know you have received them or with any comments.

Books are changed every day in F1. Please bring a book bag and check them daily for any letters. Book bags can be bought from the office.

F2 children now have their own individual reading books. They will be changed in school weekly. Please keep books in book bags and bring them to school every day – if there is free minute we love to listen to the children read!

Brompton Bears

Our Brompton Bears are enjoying spending time with you and your families. This is a great speaking and listening opportunity for the children and a way for the children to share their news with their friends. Please return the bears within the week so they are available for other children to take home, and also so it is easier for your child to remember what they did with the bears.
Please do not worry about photographs, a short description of what you have been doing is much more important (and returning them before the next Friday!) Everyday activities are just as important as day trips out (ie going shopping, playing at home, having a haircut etc).

Spare clothes

We kindly ask that all borrowed clothes are returned to school as soon as they have been cleaned. We are running short on spare trouser and leggings – any donations would be gratefully received!

Before and after school

Please ensure that the children do not play on the equipment in the Foundation Stage area before and after school – thank you.
